Biomass and Renewable Power Generation

Irondale is supporting the renewable power generation industry with its efforts to reduce carbonization of the grid. Three of IIC's Biomass projects, and a wood pellet project, were marquee projects featured in Biomass Magazine as premier projects. IIC has expertise and capability to provide a wide range of services to clients ranging from scope development, engineering, material and equipment supply and installation through check-out and start-up. 
Power Generation Projects 
Conversion Project - Lumberton, NC
Description: IIC served as the primary general contractor providing scope development, engineering, material supply, construction check-out and start-up to convert an existing coal fired power plant to a biomass/poultry fueled power plant.
Location:
  • Lumberton, NC
Scope: Boiler modifications, new ash handling system, piping and pumps, cooling tower rebuild, complete upgrade to fuel handling system (storage building, feeders, bins, hoppers, conveyors, etc.), baghouse modifications, concrete foundations, and more.

GRP Project Franklin

Description: IIC served as the primary contractor again for the greenfield project to install a new 60MW Biomass Renewable Power Plant. Completed simultaneously with its "twin," Madison Plant.​
Location:
  • Franklin County, Georgia
Scope: Piling and Concrete foundations, wood dryer piping, electrical controls and instrumentation (design, furnish, install), etc.​

GRP Project Madison

Description: IIC served as the primary contractor again for a greenfield project to install a new 60MW Biomass Renewable Power Plant. Completed simultaneously with its "twin," Franklin Plant.​

Scope: Piling and concrete foundations, wood dryer piping, electrical controls and instrumentation (design, furnish, install), etc.​
